\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNeben dem offensichtlichen Vorteilen, die die Vermeidung von fossilen Rohstoffen mit sich bringt, haben Schmierstoffe ohne Mineral\u00f6le noch weitere Vorteile:\n

Die meisten Umformprozesse k\u00f6nnen mit mineral\u00f6lfreien Produkten realisiert werden. Teilweise sind daf\u00fcr kleinere Anpassungen am Prozess, insbesondere beim Auftragsprozess notwendig.<\/p>
Trotzem existieren noch Prozesse, die bisher nicht oder nur teilweise durch mineral\u00f6lfreie Schmierstoffe abgebildet werden k\u00f6nnen. Viele davon werden mit chlorparaffinhaltigen Umform\u00f6len durchgef\u00fchrt. Chlor ist ein sehr potentes Additiv f\u00fcr Schmierstoffe, hat allerdings auch sehr gro\u00dfe Nachteile, insbesondere auf die Umweltbelastung bezogen. Kurz- und mittelkettige Chlorparaffine sind seit 2025 (kurzkettige seit 2018) im Stockholmer \u00dcbereinkommen gelistet.<\/p>

Au\u00dferdem wird durch die Tr\u00e4gerfl\u00fcssigkeit die Viskosit\u00e4t des fertigen Produkts ma\u00dfgeblich mitbestimmt. Jeder Schmierstoff ist ein Zusammenspiel der Tr\u00e4gerfl\u00fcssigkeit mit den Additiven. Die tribologischen Eigenschaften der Schmierstoffe werden zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Teil durch die richtige Kombination und Menge der Additive bestimmt.<\/p>
